2010/4/12 9:24:42    From:cippe
The 10th China International Petroleum & Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition (cippe), Asia’s largest oil expo, closed in Beijing on March 24, 2010. The exhibition, featuring diversified offerings presented by over 1,200 exhibitors from 45 countries, succeeded in gaining the attention of leading domestic and international media.

According to preliminary statistics, a total of nearly 200 central-administrated media, financial media, industrial media and local media delivered reports on cippe. It was highly valued by the industry professionals for reflecting the industry’s future trends. There are five highlights that make cippe a media focus.

First, cippe2010 brings China’s three oil giants under one roof in Beijing

cippe2010 International Forum on Petroleum & Petrochemical Equipment Industry Development was held at Beijing’s New China International Exhibition Center from March 22 to 23, 2010 with the theme of “transformation, innovation and upgrade: opportunities and challenges in the context of national adjustment and revitalization planning”. It brought professionals from China’s government bodies, China’s three oil giants, international premier oil companies, international organizations, equipment manufacturers, oil service companies and engineering companies under one roof to review a series of urgent issues including industry structural upgrade, energy conservation, drilling and production technology innovations, self-innovative equipment and offshore engineering equipment manufacturing.

The forum was attended by senior officials from China’s oil and petrochemical industry, including Wang Jiming, Director-General of China Petroleum & Petrochemical Equipment Industry Association (CPEIA), Zhao Zhiming, Deputy Managing Director of CPEIA, Li Xinhua, Deputy General Manager of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and officials of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC).

International organizations including the Houston Municipality, Aberdeen Urban Committee Economy and Environment’s Development Strategic Leadership Center, GEP, INTSOK, CAPC also came to Beijing to drive international cooperation in oil and petrochemical equipment.

Second, CNPC makes its debut as an independent oil equipment delegation at cippe

China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC)’s equipment manufacturing branch reached an agreement with cippe’s organizing committee to participate as “Chinese Oil Equipment” delegation, with an exhibition area totaling 4,000 square meters. It was the CNPC equipment manufacturing branch’s first delegation at cippe. The “Chinese Oil Equipment” delegation consisted of China Petroleum Technology & Development Corporation (CPTDC), Baoji Petroleum Machinery Co., Ltd., Baoji Petroleum Steel Pipe Co., Ltd., BoHai Petroleum Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Jinan Diesel Engine Co., Ltd., Daqing Oilfield Company Limited and Liaohe Oilfield.

Restructuring, innovation and brand integration are the most important measures taken by CNPC’s equipment manufacturing unit in the context of the global financial crisis and China’s economic reform. CNPC’s extraordinary presence was intended for an integrated export of the various “Chinese Oil Equipment” brands.

Third, cippe sees more international participants, including US’s “energy capital”

The Houston Municipality sent a delegation consisting of its government officials, executives of multinational oil companies, sourcing managers and technology professionals to the cippe2010 Forum and delivered a speech.

The Deputy Mayor of Houston explained why they decided to take part in cippe, “China’s oil and petrochemical equipment industry is in the process of rapid development, with China paying growing attention to industry upgrade. It is an area with plenty opportunities for the Chinese companies. A number of companies are likely to become pioneers of the industry in China.”

Gazprom, one of the world’s largest national gas companies, showcased its latest oil and gas development technology with an exhibition area of square meters.

Apart from the US delegation and the Canada delegation, cippe also saw delegations of 12 countries including UK, France and Germany, as well as nearly 1,200 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions, and it also welcomed international sourcing delegations from Kazakhstan, Russia, Pakistan, Singapore and Brazil, which together marked an overall increase in the number of international participants.

Fourth, China’s offshore oil and gas is turning from a “yellow earth civilization” into an “offshore culture”

In recent years, China’s offshore oil sector has seen rapid growth. It is forecast that output from deepwater oilfields will account for the total oil output by 2015. With deepwater oil exploration being the trend, the potential market for offshore engineering equipment is set to expand dramatically, which accounts for an increasing number of large-sized oil companies’ investment in offshore oil equipment.

During the exhibition, equipment companies traditionally focusing on onshore oil equipment also showcased their offshore devices. For instance, BGP Inc. presented an offshore geophone, while Baoji Petroleum Machinery Co., Ltd. showcased its pipe handling winch and drilling platform accessories.

Fifth, Global 500 companies are focusing on China’s energy market

Global 500 companies including Siemens, ABB, Samsung, PPG Industries, Sandvik and Honeywell have obtained more projects related to China’s energy industry. Currently, demand for energy and chemical intermediate products is undergoing a dramatic growth in China’s marketplace. Honeywell, with its products widely used in industrial, commercial and individual areas, along with a number of benchmarking products for the gas detection sector, revealed its latest gas detector at cippe2010.
Part of the exhibits will go on show at Shanghai Expo 2010 as a sign of China’s enhancing manufacturing capabilities

Sinopec Jianghan Petroleum Administration (Sinopec JHPA), Sinopec’s oil drilling machinery base and China’s largest oil machinery manufacturing and exporting base, showcased Sinopec’s strong oil equipment manufacturing capabilities in South China.

SUPCON and Neway Valve’s participation in the API valve industry benchmarking meeting as well as CNPC’s new product launch during the exhibition indicated that China already owns certain oil and petrochemical equipment products that are up to the world’s leading standard.

This year’s cippe also featured a large number of China’s oil equipment bases, including Jianghan, Dongying, Panjin, Yanshan, Cangzhou, Daqing and Bohai.

cippe, Asia’s largest oil expo, welcomed over 1,200 exhibitors from 45 countries and regions, as well as 40,000 professional visitors. cippe, which is held annually in Beijing in March, is recognized as one of the world’s four premier oil expos, with the other three being OTC, GPS and OE.

The 11th China International Petroleum & Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition (cippe2011) will take place in Beijing on March22- 24, 2010, welcome to join us.
